THE PROJECT
The Brief
Alex & Melica wanted to transform their Twickenham house into a dream home for their growing family. It was a property with huge potential, especially once they looked at what similar homes nearby had achieved through planning permissions. As an interior designer, Melica brought a clear creative vision and exacting standards to the table — something we welcomed wholeheartedly.
BACKGROUND
The Challenge
The scope was extensive and every detail mattered: delivering a double-storey side extension, single-storey rear extension, full roof renovation and complete internal reconfiguration — all to a professional designer’s standards, with the level of precision where even things like socket and switch alignment were noticed and mattered.
At the same time, it needed a complete shift in character: Melica had been drawn to Victorian/Edwardian details, but this house lacked that traditional finesse — so the challenge was to use its unusual width and strong structure to create something beautifully finished, personal, and full of considered design.

OUR APPROACH
Bradley’s Solution
We worked collaboratively with Melica to realise her vision wall by wall — pairing our build expertise with her design direction across the extensions, reconfiguration, refurbishment and landscaping. From the outset, we took the time to listen and understand what they wanted to create, and guide the build with clear systems: itemised billing, change orders approved before work went ahead, and transparent communication throughout.
The Build
A full renovation programme combining a double-storey side extension, single-storey rear extension, full roof renovation, complete internal reconfiguration and top-to-bottom refurbishment, finished with carefully considered landscaping, bespoke joinery, and a handcrafted ‘monkey tail’ staircase.
The Finished Results
A light-filled, beautifully curated family home — delivered to Melica’s exacting standards and designed for Alex, Melica and their newborn daughter.
OUTCOME
The Results
For Alex and Melica, this was far more than “a refurb” — it was a complete rework of the house, inside and out, with only a couple of original walls left standing by the end. The build brought together the extensions, roof renovation, and full internal reconfiguration with the kind of finish that matters when your client is an interior designer: the details were scrutinised, and even small alignment issues (like sockets and switches) were picked up and corrected without pushback.
Throughout, the process stayed clear and collaborative, with decisions tracked and changes approved before work moved forward, giving Alex and Melica genuine peace of mind. And when the clean-up was done and the furniture started going back in, Alex described finally seeing Melica’s vision “in real life” as emotional — a turning point that made them both feel at home in the space they’d created together.
